AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE KEEPING OF LIONS WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS; AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

WHEREAS, the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas finds that the keeping or harboring of one or more Lions is detrimental to the health, safety and welfare of the inhabitants within the City of Jonesboro;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

Section 1: It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or Corporation to keep or harbor a Lion within the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Section 2: A Lion shall be defined as a large carnivorous mammal of the cat family.

Section 3: Any person, firm or Corporation who violates Section 1 of this Ordinance shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred and no/100 ($100.00) Dollars.
