A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONVEYANCE OF PROPERTY FOR CONSTRUCTION OF A ROAD TO JOE MACK CAMPBELL PARK

WHEREAS, Plans being developed to make U. S. 63 a limited access facility include an interchange at Dan Avenue (U. S. 63 B); and

WHEREAS, the interchange project includes elimination of the U. S. 63 Joe Mack Campbell park access drive, and construction of a frontage road from Harry Drive to the park; and

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Mayor and City Council that a portion of the park property, all of which was purchased exclusively with City funds, be conveyed to the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department for road right-of-way;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

1. That the Mayor and City Clerk, be and are hereby authorized to execute appropriate documents to convey, to the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department, a strip of property, as follows:

Containing .05 acres more or less, more particularly described as follows: Starting at the Southeast Corner of Lot 2 of Carr’s Westside Addition; thence North 10°21'45" West along the East line thereof a distance of 320.41 feet for the point of beginning; thence continue North 10°21'45"West along said East line a distance of 18.86 feet to a point on the Southerly existing right of way line of U. S. Highway 63 B; thence South 75°09'02" East along said existing right of way line a distance of 110.37 feet to a point; thence South 10°14'55" West a distance of 22.37 feet to a point on the Southerly proposed right of way line of U. S. Highway 63 B; thence North 73°20'30" West along said proposed right of way line a distance of 110.74 feet to the point of beginning and containing 0.05 acres more or less.

SECTION 2. That it is hereby found and determined that no adverse impact to the park or to the environment will occur as a result of the construction of said road, and no mitigation will be required.
