AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 1573, §2 OF THE JONESBORO MUNICIPAL CODE BOOK REGARDING COMPOSITIONS OF THE AIRPORT COMMISSION TO BE IN COMPLIANCE WITH ARKANSAS STATE LAW, OF ACTS, 1981, NO. 48, 1, P.132, APPROVED FEBRUARY 12, 1981.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro:
SECTION 1: Section #2 of Ordinance # 1573 shall be amended to comply with Section §3 of Acts, 1981, #48, §1, p. 132 of the general Assembly of the State of Arkansas, approved February 12, 1981 to eliminate the restriction prohibiting elected and appointed officials from serving on municipal airport commissions; that the appointment of such officials to municipal airport commissions should in many instances be in the best interests of the communities involved.
SECTION 2: An emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval.
