BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:  

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as Recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Commercial C-3 to Industrial (I-2) the following described property:

 

A part of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 29, Township 14 North, Range 5 East, Craighead County, Arkansas and being more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Southeast corner of the Northwest Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of said Section 29; thence South 89°21'56" West 41.0 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence continue South 89°21'56" West 1235.84 feet to the center line of Little Bay Ditch; thence North 09°49'26" East 1239.95 feet along said center line ditch to the South right of way line of Highland Drive (Hwy# 18); thence North 89°15'38" East 119.38 feet along said Right Of Way; thence North 86°58'12" East 500.40 feet along said right of way; thence North 89° 15' 38" East 383.77 feet to the West right of way of Cottage Home road; thence South 0°59'15" East 1241.21 feet to the point of beginning proper, containing 31.65 acres more or less.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
