RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS GRANTS AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE, BUREAU OF JUSTICE ASSISTANCE (BJA) FOR FY22 BULLET PROOF VEST PARTNERSHIP.

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas was awarded the FY22 Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant in the amount of $39,704.66; and
Whereas, the City of Jonesboro will provide a 50% local match of $39,704.66 for the total project cost of $79,409.32; and
Whereas, the FY22 Bulletproof Vest Partnership will be used to purchase National Institute of Justice (NIJ) compliant armored vests with no accessories.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The City of Jonesboro, Arkansas will enter into agreement with the Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) to accept the FY22 Bulletproof Vest Partnership Grant for the purchase of new armored vests.
SECTION 2: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this application.
