A RESOLUTION FOR THE APPOINTMENT AND REAPPOINTMENT OF MEMBERS TO THE AIRPORT COMMISSION

WHEREAS, the following appointments/reappointments have been recommended by the Mayor of Jonesboro to serve on the Airport Commission; AND
WHEREAS, according to A. C. A. 14-359-105, the Airport Commission shall be composed of seven (7) members, appointed by the Mayor of Jonesboro, and approved by ¾ vote of the Jonesboro City Council; AND
WHEREAS, the commissioners first appointed and confirmed shall serve staggered terms of one (1), two (2), three (3), four (4) and five (5) years, with two (2) commissioners serving terms of four (4) years and two (2) commissioners serving terms of five (5) years as designated; AND
WHEREAS, upon the expiration of their respective terms, their successors shall be appointed by the mayor, subject to the approval of the council, for terms of five (5) years; AND
WHEREAS, it is the intent of the Jonesboro City Council to establish a consistent anniversary date; AND
WHEREAS, the commissioners shall file the oath required by law in the State of Arkansas, and shall within (15) days of their appointment or reappointment forward a duplicate Oath of Office to the Jonesboro City Clerk in accordance to Ordinance No. 3503; AND
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS:
SECTION I: That the City of Jonesboro shall appoint /reappoint the following individuals to the Airport Commission with the following staggered terms:

PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 5th Day of April, 2005.
