AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 2005 ANNUAL BUDGET AND THE PAY PLAN FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO

WHEREAS, Ordinance Number 3506 adopted the 2005 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro; and

WHEREAS, Resolution Number 2004:02 adopted the City Pay Plan; and

WHEREAS, following evaluation of the position of Work Release Coordinator it is recommended that this position title be changed to Police Officer / Prisoner Transport / Public Service Work Coordinator, and that a requirement of this position be the possession of a police officer certification.

THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by the Jonesboro City Council that:

SECTION 1: The position of Work Release Coordinator, Grade 11, Step 4, salary of $26,922.27 is changed to Police Officer / Prisoner Transport / Public Service Worker Coordinator, Grade 13, Step 2, at $28,285.21.

SECTION 2: The funding for the increased salary and benefits shall be from existing departmental 2005 budget appropriations.

SECTION 3: For the financial and operational continuity of the City of Jonesboro it is hereby found and declared that an emergency exists and that this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
