A RESOLUTION TO CREATE A POOL AND WATER PARK TASK FORCE FOR THE PURPOSE OF STUDYING THE FEASIBILITY OF NEW AQUATIC FACILITIES

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has contracted with the team of Brackett-Krennerich and Councilman-Hunsaker to study the feasibility of constructing a new pool and water park in Jonesboro; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro desires to create a Pool and Water Park Task Force to gain citizen input in the feasibility of constructing a new pool and water park; and
WHEREAS, the charge of the Pool and Water Park Task Force is to work with the consulting team and make recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Planning and Advisory Committee, the Mayor and the City Council regarding future aquatics facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor has appointed the following Jonesboro citizens and staff to the task force: Ann Garner, Doug Imrie, Bill Rogers, Tim McCall, Rick Stripling, Jason Wilkie, Jeff Owens, Blair Dean, Thayer McKinley, Linda Scott, Sam Denton, Shawn Drake and Brad Welbourne; and
WHEREAS, the Pool and Water Park Task Force shall meet until the feasibility study is complete and recommendations have been made to the Parks Planning and Advisory Committee, the Mayor and City Council;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1: There shall be created a Pool and Water Park Task Force to work with the Brackett-Krennerich and Councilman-Hunsaker team and make recommendations to the Parks and Recreation Planning and Advisory Committee, the Mayor and the City Council regarding future aquatics facilities;
Section 2: Appointed to the task force shall be the following Jonesboro citizens and staff; Ann Garner, Doug Imrie, Bill Rogers, Tim McCall, Rick Stripling, Jason Wilkie, Jeff Owens, Blair Dean, Thayer McKinley, Linda Scott, Sam Denton, Shawn Drake and Brad Welbourne.
