AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE MO-ARK COMMUNICATIONS TO RELOCATE MOTOROLA REPEATERS, CONTROLLERS, AND ANTENNAS FROM 1624 STRAWFLOOR TO 2920 MCCLELLAN DRIVE FOR THE E-911 COMMUNICATIONS CENTER.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
 
SECTION 1:  That the E-911 Communications Center of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas needs to relocate antennas, repeaters, and controllers.
 
SECTION 2:  That said equipment and labor may be purchased from Mo-Ark Communications, an only source, for the sum of $26,467.11, freight and sales tax included to be paid from the E-911  unappropriated monies.
 
SECTION 3:  That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. Section 14-58-302 hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Agent to purchase the above described for the price set forth in Section 2 above.
 
SECTION 4:  It is further found that due to immediate need to move the above mentioned radio equipment providing back up radio service for the Jonesboro Police and Fire Departments an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
 
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of September, 2007.
