Minutes for the City Council meeting on July 26, 1965

The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas met in regular session at City Hall, Monday night, July 26, 1965, at 7:30 p.m. There were present: Mayor, City Attorney, City Clerk.
Mr. Griffin offered the following resolution:
RESOLUTION TO VACATE AND ABANDON PORTION OF LEROY STREET BEGINNING AT JAMES STREET AND RUNNING WEST TO DUDLEY AVENUE AND DUDLEY STREET BEGINNING AT OLIVER STREET AND RUNNING NORTH TO THE NORTH LINE OF LOTS 5-8 OF BLOCK B DUDLEY SUBDIVISON
Mr. Griffin moved with Mr. Sammons seconding the motion the resolution be adopted. On calling the roll, all present voted aye and the motion carried. The resolution was given the number 1965:19.
The Traffic Advisory Commission’s report and recommendation was given to Council and Mr. Stallings moved with Mr. Wilson that the City Attorney be directed to draw up an ordinance in compliance with Commission’s recommendation as to “No Parking” in certain areas and hazardous signs. Mr. Stallings amended his motion to exclude item No. 3 and Mr. Wilson seconded the motion. Roll was called. All present voted aye and the motion carried.
Mr. Mays made the motion, seconded by Mr. Stallings that the bills as okayed by the Finance Committee be paid. On calling the roll, all voted aye and the motion carried.
There being no further business, Council voted unanimously to adjourn.
