Minutes for the City Council meeting on November 7, 1960

The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Ark., met in regular session at City Hall, Monday night, November 7, 1960. There were present: Mayor, City Attorney, City Clerk and the following named Councilmen: Parks, Williams, Sammons, Smith, Brickell, Heern, Snow, Kenward, Field, Griffin, Copeland and Ebbert.
The Drainage Commissioners requested that a committee be appointed to work with them on the problem in District #30 and 33. The Mayor appointed Kenward, Smith and Sammons to serve on this committee.
After discussion on the matter of the City paying a portion of the expense in acquiring an airline route through the City, Mr. Heern made the motion seconded by Mr. Parks that $906.56 be paid on the condition that it is legal for the City to pay it. Roll was called. Voting aye - Parks, Williams, Sammons, Brickell, Heern, Kenward, Griffin and Ebbert. Voting no - Snow, Field and Copeland. Mr. Smith passed. Motion carried.
Mr. Brickell made the motion seconded by Mr. Field that the bills as okayed by the Finance Committee be paid. Roll was called. All aye. Motion carried.
There being no further business, Council voted unanimously to adjourn.
