AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE 2009 BUDGET TO APPROPRIATE FUNDS FOR THE SURVEY OF THE PIPE INVENTORY THROUGHOUT THE CITY OF JONESBORO

WHEREAS, in Resolution File Number RES-09:106 the City of Jonesboro agreed to accepted Supplement Agreement No. 1 related to the Survey of the Pipe Inventory Throughout the City of Jonesboro - Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) Job No. 100614; and
WHEREAS, Federal monies have been allocated to fund this work and all expenses are reimbursable through grant funding from AHTD.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, has previously established the 2009 city budget through Ordinance No. 09:005; and
WHEREAS, the contract amount of $50,568.40 is not appropriated in the 2009 budget established by the City of Jonesboro; and
WHEREAS, ORD-06:125 states funding shall come from the Capital Improvement Fund and now funding related to this grant award shall come from the Federal Funds Fund; and
WHEREAS, there remains $4,690.31 of the existing budget appropriation in the Capital Improvement Fund.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
SECTION 1: The intent of Resolution RES-09:106 is recognized.
SECTION 2: The 2009 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro is amended in the amount of $50,568.40 to the Federal Funds Fund.
SECTION 3: All funding associated with this grant award shall now be paid from the Federal Funds Fund and the remaining appropriated funds of $4,690.31 shall be moved to the Federal Funds Fund.
SECTION 4: It is necessary that the finances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas be efficiently administered and accounted for and whereas this ordinance is necessary for the proper execution of contractual obligations, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after it passage and approval.
