AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954 PROVIDING FOR CHANGE IN ZONING DISTRICT BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro is amended as recommended by the City Planning Commission by the change of zoning district boundaries as follows:
(1) From residential (R-2) to commercial (C-3) of Lots 1 through 17 of Wilson’s Second Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, said lots lying on the West side of Wilson Street from Washington Avenue on the North to Jefferson Avenue on the South.
(2) From residential (R-3) to commercial (C-3) of Block 1 of Morrison’s Subdivision of Stephenson’s Addition; Block 2 of Stephenson’s Addition; and Lots 2, 3, 4, and 6 of Block 3 of Stephenson’s Addition; all to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, said property lying on the North side of Johnson Avenue bounded by Fisher Street on the West and a point approximately 286 feet East of Allis Street on the East for a depth of approximately 222 feet.
(3) From residential (R-1) to commercial (C-3) of Block “F” of the revised plat of Western Heights Addition to the City of Jonesboro, said tract lying in the Northwest corner of the intersection of Craighead Road with Highway 39 South and Culberhouse Road.
Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tracts of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
