A Public Hearing was held at 7:15 p.m. at the Council Chambers at City Hall on Monday, May 21, 1984 concerning a bond issue for Tate Containers.
CITY COUNCIL MINUTES - MAY 21, 1984
The Jonesboro City Council met in regular session, Monday, May 21, 1984, at 7:30 p.m. Present were City Clerk, City Attorney, and all aldermen. Vice- Mayor Hannah presided in the absence of Mayor Stallings.
The minutes of May 7, 1984, were approved on motion by Mr. Sanderson, seconded by Mr. Stricklin. All voted aye.
The following ordinance was on 3rd reading: (Motorcycles at Craighead)
AN ORDINANCE TO BAN THE OPERATION OF MOTOR VEHICLES IN CRAIGHEAD FOREST PARK EXCEPT ON ROADS AND DESIGNATED AREAS: PRESCRIBING OTHER MATTERS RELATING THERETO AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
Mr. Stricklin moved, seconded by Mr. Shelton, to adopt the ordinance. All voted aye. The ordinance was given the number 1868.
Mr. Shelton offered the following ordinance: (Bond Issue Tate Cont.)
AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS FOR THE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING PERMANENT FINANCING FOR INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES; AUTHORIZING A TRUST INDENTURE SECURING THE BONDS; AUTHORIZING A LEASE AND AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, AS LESSOR, AND TATE CONTAINERS OF CONWAY, INC., AS LESSEE; AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF THE BONDS; AUTHORIZING AND PRESCRIBING OTHER MATTERS PERTAINING THERETO; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
Mr. Sanderson moved, seconded by Mr. Shelton to suspend the rules and place the ordinance on 2nd reading. All voted aye.
