ORDINANCE FOR COMPLIANCE WITH A.C.A 14-42-107 AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH AN OFFICIAL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO FOR BUILDING CONTRACTOR SERVICES

WHEREAS, A.C.A. 14-42-107 requires an ordinance be enacted specifically permitting the conducting of business between an official of the city and the City of Jonesboro; AND
WHEREAS, sealed bids were taken by the Airport Commission for the construction of an Air Rescue Fire Fighting Facility at the Jonesboro Municipal Airport; AND
WHEREAS, 95% of the funding for the facility is provided through Federal Grant #AIP-05-0033-013-2005 and the Airport Commission is providing the 5% matching portion; AND
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Administration and the Jonesboro City Council that compliance with A.C.A. 14-42-107 is satisfied for the conducting of city business; AND
BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION 1: The following low bid meeting specifications is authorized and accepted as recommended by the Mayor’s office:
The bid by Construction Network Incorporation, whose Chief Executive Officer is George Stem and an appointed member to the Airport Commission, is hereby accepted in the amount of $976,000.75.
SECTION 2: This ordinance being necessary for the financial continuity of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is hereby declared to be an emergency and shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
