RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A SPECIAL CENSUS TO BE TAKEN

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, desires a special census to determine the number of inhabitants residing within the corporate limits of said City; and
WHEREAS, it is advantageous to said City that a Special Census be taken which if showing an increase, will result in an increase of revenue of said City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, in regular session assembled, at which meeting a majority was present and participating, that a special census be taken of the inhabitants residing within the corporate limits of said City of Jonesboro, and the Mayor, City Clerk and such other City officials as necessary be and are hereby authorized and directed to take each and every step necessary to secure said census; that the sum of $3,000.00 is now deemed necessary to commence said census, and that the Mayor and City Clerk are directed to expend said sum, together with such other sums as from time to time deemed necessary and as approved by the Council.
