AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND SECTION 10-11 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS; INCREASING THE MONTHLY GARBAGE FEE FOR RESIDENTIAL UNITS (SINGLE FAMILY DWELLINGS AND MULTI FAMILY DWELLINGS) AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

BE IT ORDAINED AND ENACTED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas Section 10-11 is hereby amended by increasing the now existing monthly rates for garbage collection as follows:
(a) All single family dwelling units shall pay $4.95 per month.
(b) All multi family dwelling units shall pay $4.40 per month.
Section 2: City Water & Light is hereby authorized to bill each single family dwelling and each multi family dwelling as indicated in subsection (a) and (b).
Section 3: The City Collector shall add $0.40 per month where applicable under subsection (b).
Section 4: All ordinances and/or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed to the extent of such conflict.
Section 5: It is found and declared by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that the City is in need of additional revenues and an increase in the rate is necessary for continued efficient sanitary services; therefore, this ordinance shall take effect and be in full force January 1, 1980.
