A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO ENTER INTO A JOINT OWNERSHIP AND OPERATION AGREEMENT WITH CITY WATER & LIGHT (CWL) FOR THE PURCHASE OF A GPS BASE STATION, ACCEPT THE BID NUMBER 2010:15 AND APPROVE THE PURCHASE OF SURVEYING EQUIPMENT FROM NAVIGATION ELECTRONICS, INC.

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro desires to enter into a Joint Owner and Operation Agreement with CWL for purchase and operation of the GPS Base Station;
WHEREAS, the company selected to provide surveying equipment to be used by the City of Jonesboro and CWL is Navigation Electronics, Inc.;
WHEREAS, Navigation Electronics, Inc. has bid $42,583.00 plus sales tax to provide surveying equipment meeting the specifications in Bid Number 2010:15 and being compatible with CWLs existing equipment;
WHEREAS, this award has been made based on the review and evaluation of the information provided in Bid Number 2010:15;
WHEREAS, these item were not listed in the 2010 Fixed Asset Budget;
WHEREAS, funding for the purchase of the surveying equipment shall be a joint effort between the City of Jonesboro and CWL. CWL shall contribute $20,000.00 for the purchase of the equipment and the remainder shall come from unused monies in the 2010 Engineering Department Fixed Asset Budget Line Item.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1. That the City of Jonesboro shall enter into a Joint Owner and Operation Agreement with CWL for purchase and operation of the GPS Base Station.
Section 2. That the City of Jonesboro accepts Bid Number 2010:15 for $42,583.00 plus sales tax from Navigation Electronics, Inc. for the purchase of surveying equipment to be used by the City of Jonesboro and CWL.
Section 3. The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
