MINUTES
METROPOLITAN AREA PLANNING COMMISSION
SEPTEMBER 18, 2001 AT 7:00 P.M.
(RESCHEDULED FROM SEPTEMBER 11, 2001)

MEMBERS PRESENT: Beadles, Damron, Gott, Street, Krennerich, Johnson, Shaw

MEMBERS ABSENT: Phillips, Little

The minutes of the August 14, 2001 meeting were approved as prepared.

#1 RZ01-34 Tina Coots, Hunt Properties, requested approval of rezoning from Residential R-1 to Commercial C-3 for .50 acre located behind 2113 N. Church Street. The general location of the property is north of Bettie Street, west of N. Church Street, south of Ginger Street and east of Tina Cove.

Properties to the east and north were rezoned earlier in 2001 and at that time it was recommended that the owners petition to rezone this contiguous tract which contains .50 acre. Glenn Batten stated that the development of the property would have to meet the residential compatibility standards contained in the Zoning Ordinance.

No opposition was expressed by any in attendance.

Ms. Shaw made a motion to recommend approval of the rezoning to the City Council while advising the petitioner of the residential compatibility standards that would apply to development of this property, particularly buffering between the residential and commercial properties. The motion was seconded by Mr. Gott. Voting was 6 in favor, 0 opposed, MOTION CARRIED, REQUEST APPROVED.

#2 RZ01-35 Dean Tyrer requested approval of rezoning from Residential R-1 to Residential R-3 for 52.24 acres located on a part of the SE 1/4, NE 1/4 and a part of the NE 1/4 , SE 1/4 of Section 15, T14N, R4E. The property is principally located at 4303 Aggie Road, site of Meadowview Trailer Park on the south side of Aggie Road, east of Cornerstone Drive.
