RESOLUTION SETTING A PUBLIC HEARING TO VACATE AND ABANDON A PORTION OF JEFFERSON AVENUE LOCATED EAST OF CHRISTIAN CREEK DRAINAGE DISTRICT NO. 30 IN WILSON'S SECOND ADDITION AS REQUESTED BY ROY COOPER AND MARY TOLBERT

WHEREAS, the abutting property owners have filed a petition with the City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, requesting that the City abandon a portion of Jefferson Avenue which is undeveloped and which is located East of Christian Creek Drainage District No. 30 in the Wilson's Second Addition to the City of Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas; and

WHEREAS, the petition has been presented to the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and

WHEREAS, Arkansas law requires notice of such public hearing.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the City Clerk is directed to publish a notice advising the public of such request to vacate and abandon the above mentioned undeveloped avenue and that this matter will be heard before the City Council on June 6, 2006, at 6:15 o'clock p.m. at the 501 Huntington Building, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
