Metropolitan Area Planning Commission Minutes

The City Planning Commission of Jonesboro, Arkansas, met in an informal session on January 21, 1959, at 7:30 P.M. in the library of the Nettleton Public School.
MEMBERS PRESENT: Planning Commissioners Charles Frierson, Al Hendrix, Mrs. J. Clifford Hill, Minor Markle, Lloyd Rebsamen, Elmer Stuck and Neal B. Thayer
OTHERS PRESENT: Aldermen Les Griffin and James A. Williams (Nettleton Ward) and several Nettleton citizens.
MEMBERS ABSENT: Planning Commissioners Dean Ellis and Caleb Watson.
Chairman Markle opened the meeting and asked secretary to explain briefly Zoning Ordinance #954 and the Land Use and Proposed Zoning Map proposed by the University of Arkansas staff for the Nettleton area.
There was considerable informal discussion about the proposed boundaries of the various districts, as shown on the map.
It was agreed that the map, together with a copy of the ordinance, be posted for public inspection at the Nettleton First Station and a meeting be held at a later date for further discussion. No formal action taken.
