AN ORDINANCE SETTING THE SALARY OF THE CITY TREASURER AT $125.00 PER MONTH (NOTE: THIS ORDINANCE WAS AMENDED BY ORD-74:2406 ON FEBRUARY 4, 1974)

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
Section 1: That the salary of the City Treasurer of the City of Jonesboro is hereby fixed at $125.00 per month payable the first of each and every month, effective January 1, 1968.
Section 2: That all Ordinances, Resolutions and laws and parts of Ordinances, Resolutions and laws in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
Section 3: It is found and declared by the City Council that the cost of living has risen since the last time said salary was adjusted and that the work load of said office has greatly increased since the last adjustment of salary and that the public interest and welfare requires an increase in said salary, effective January 1, 1968. That the effective administration of the city government requires that the ordinance shall be immediately effective; an emergency is hereby declared and found to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and welfare, this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect as of January 1, 1968, from and after its passage and approval.
