AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No.954, known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From R-1, Single Family Medium Density to R1A, Single Family High Density:

 

A part of the West Half of the Southeast Quarter of Section 8, Township 14 North, Range 4 East in the City of Jonesboro, Craighead County, Arkansas, as shown by attached plat, and being more particularly described as follows:

 

Beginning at the center of said Section 8; thence South 89°04’00” East 480.4 feet; thence South 00°53’09” West 1028.82 feet; thence with a curve turning to the left with an arc length of 286.70 feet to the East line of J.A. Lamberth Subdivision, thence North 00°28’14” East 502.59 feet along said East line; thence North 85°37’48” West 225.84 feet along said East line; thence North 00°53’09” East 682.01 feet along said East line to the point of beginning, having an area of 415.567.11 square feet, 9.54 acres more or less and being subject to all public and private roads and easements.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
