A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF THE SUPPLEMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE ARKANSAS HIGHWAY AND TRANSPORTATION DEPARTMENT AND THE CITY OF JONESBORO

Whereas, the City of Jonesboro was designated an Urbanized Zone Area (UZA) by the Federal Transit Administration in 2002; and
Whereas, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department, as the designated recipient of funds, has been allocating 5307 funds to the Jonesboro UZA annually since 2002; and
Whereas, the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department believes it to be to most efficient and in the best interest of the Jonesboro UZA to become the direct recipient of such allocations, thus allowing the city of Jonesboro to directly receive and disperse of Federal Assistance funds under the Federal Transit Administration section 5307 funding formula.
Now therefore be it resolved, that the Mayor of Jonesboro is hereby authorized to execute the Supplemental Agreement between the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department and the City of Jonesboro.
