The City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, met in regular session, on the above named date at 7:30 p.m. in the City Hall. There were present: Mayor, City Clerk, City Attorney and the named Councilmen: Powell, Hamilton, Stricklin, Snow, Copeland, Hendrix, Hart, Johnson and Taylor.

Mr. Hamilton offered the following Ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE ABANDONING AN ALLEY IN BLOCK “F” OF GREGGS SUBDIVISION OF LANE’S ADDITION TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO.

Mr. Taylor made the motion, seconded by Mr. Johnson, that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance be placed on the second reading. Roll was called. All members voting aye. Motion carried. The Ordinance was then read for the second time. Mr. Stricklin then made the motion seconded by Mr. Hamilton that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance be placed on the third and final reading. Roll was called, all members voting aye. Motion carried. Mr. Stricklin made the motion that the Ordinance be adopted as read. Mr. Powell seconded the motion. Roll was called. All aye. Motion carried. The ordinance was given the number 896.

Mr. Taylor offered the following Ordinance:

AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING A PART OF THE NORTHWEST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHWEST QUARTER OF THE SOUTHEAST QUARTER OF SECTION 13, TOWNSHIP 14 NORTH, RANGE 3 EAST , TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS.

Mr. Hamilton made the motion that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance be placed on the second reading. Mr. Copeland seconded the motion. Roll was called. All member voting aye. Motion carried. After reading the Ordinance for the second time, Mr. Powell made the motion seconded by Mr. Hamilton that the rules be suspended and the Ordinance be placed on the third and final reading. Roll was called. All voting aye. Motion carried. Mr. Hamilton then made the motion that the Ordinance be adopted as read. Mr. Johnson seconded the motion. Roll was called. All members voting aye.
