WHEREAS, Evelyn S. Grigsby did on April 12, 1978, file a petition with the Mayor and City Council of the City of Jonesboro requesting that a portion of Stone Street hereinafter described be vacated and abandoned; and
 
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 19-3814 Arkansas Statutes, a hearing must be held on said petition following publication of notice.
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas meeting in regular session on April 17, 1978.
 
(1)  That a public hearing be held on May 1st, 1978, to determine whether that portion of Stone Street lying within the corporate limits of the City of Jonesboro be abandoned the legal description of same being as follows:  Commencing at the northeast corner of Lot 2, Block N, Sigler's College Addition to the City of Jonesboro, thence East 68.5 feet to the Northwest corner of Lot 1, Block M of said Addition, thence South 610 feet to the Southwest corner of Lot 3, Block M of said Addition, thence West 68.5 feet to the Southeast corner of Lot 4, Block N of said Addition, thence North 610 feet to the point of beginning.
 
(2)  That the City Clerk be directed to give notice by a publication once a week for two weeks in the Jonesboro Sun advising any property owners affected of the date and time for this hearing.
 
PASSED and ADOPTED UNANIMOUSLY this 17th day of April, 1978.
