ORDINANCE FOR THE COMPLIANCE WITH A.C.A. 14-42-107 AUTHORIZING AGREEMENTS WITH CITY EMPLOYEES FOR LABOR AND EQUIPMENT

WHEREAS, A.C.A. 14-42-107 requires an ordinance be enacted specifically permitting the conducting of business between municipal employees and the City of Jonesboro; and

 

WHEREAS, bids were taken for the interior painting of lobby and basement of City Hall; And

 

WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Administration and the Jonesboro City Council that compliance with A.C.A. 14-42-107 is satisfied for the conducting of city business.

 

BE IT THEREFORE ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that,

 

SECTION 1: The following low bid is authorized and accepted as recommended by the Mayor’s Office:

 

Painting of the lobby and basement of Jonesboro City Hall, located at 515 W. Washington  by Police Officer Jeff Vernon,  owner and operator of Vernon’s Painting (License Number 84066)  at a price of $5,450.00.

 

SECTION 2: This ordinance being necessary for the financial continuity of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas is hereby declared to be an emergency and shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
