BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

From Residential (R-1) To Commercial (C-3) the following described property.

TRACT 1: Part of the Southwest One-Quarter (1/4) of the Southwest One-Quarter (1/4) of Section 14, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, more particularly described as follows; beginning at the Northeast Corner of the Southwest Quarter (1/4) of the Southwest Quarter (1/4) of Section 14, thence South 1°24' West for 305.7 feet; thence North 89°36' West for 555.6 feet; thence North 87°8' West for 99.7 feet; thence North 89°39' West for 129.1 feet; thence North 1°32' East for 296 feet; thence East for 783.8 feet to the point of beginning, containing 5.43 acres.

TRACT 2: Part of the Southwest One-Quarter (1/4) of the Southwest One-Quarter (1/4) of Section 14, Township 14 North, Range 3 East, more particularly described as follows; commence at the Northeast Corner of the Southwest Quarter (1/4) of the Southwest Quarter (1/4) of Section 14, thence South 1°24' West for 416.5 feet; to the point of beginning; thence continue South 1°24' West for 247.1 feet; thence West for 778.74 feet; thence North 1°32' East for 253.19 feet; thence South 89°33' East for 778.03 feet to the point of beginning, containing 4.47 acres.

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract (tracts) of land described above in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety...
