AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954 KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
 
SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows:
 
From Residential ( R-1 ) to Industrial ( I -2 ) of property described as follows: (W side of Hwy 1B, E of Mardis Add., B and C Die Cast, Bob Schucardt).
 
A part of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Section 32 Township 14 North, Range 4 East being more particularly described as follows: Commencing at the Southwest Corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Southwest Quarter of Said Section 32, being the point of beginning proper; thence North 1°48' East 601.3 feet along a property line fence; thence North 0°39' East 315.15 feet along a property line fence to the South-westerly right-of-way line of Highway # 1-B; thence along said right-of-way line as follows: South 52° 33' East 21.8 feet, South 54° 04' East 100.0 feet, South 53°02' East 100.0 feet, South 43.02' East 84.6 feet; South 29° 29' 30" East 108.9 feet, South 22°43' East 693.0 feet; thence North 88°52' West 579.7 feet along an existing property line fence to the point of beginning proper containing 7.47 acres, more or less.
 
SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that proper use of the tract of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning and that, therefore, an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
