RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS ADOPTING A CALENDAR FOR THE PREPARATION AND ADOPTION OF AN ANNUAL BUDGET

WHEREAS, adoption of an annual budget for the City of Jonesboro is required by state law, and

WHEREAS, the Mayor is required by state law to present a proposed annual budget to the City Council by December 1 of each year, and

WHEREAS, the City Council must by state law adopt an annual budget by February 1 of each year, and

WHEREAS, there exists the need for an orderly, efficient and timely budget process to ensure that all legally mandated deadlines are met,

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:

SECTION ONE: There is hereby adopted the annual budget preparation calendar presented as Schedule A.

SECTION TWO: This resolution, being necessary for the orderly, efficient, and timely preparation of an annual budget, an emergency is hereby declared and this Resolution shall be in effect immediately upon its adoption and approval.
