ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE ZONING ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS

WHEREAS, the following described lands are currently zoned R-1 residential use classification:
The NE 1/4 of the NE 1/4, the SE 1/4 of the NE 1/4 and the NE 1/4 of the SE 1/4 of Section 28, T14N, R5E, Craighead County, Arkansas, containing 118.22 acres, more or less, and
Part of the South 1/2 of the SE 1/4 of Section 28, T14N, R5E, being more particularly described as follows: commence at the SE corner of said Section 28, also the point of beginning; thence S87°28’04” W along the south line of Section 28 1999.23 feet; thence N 01°38’56” W 1306.32 feet; thence N 87°24’08” E 1999.27 feet; thence S 01°38’56” E 1308.61 feet to the point of beginning, containing 60.0 acres, and being subject to road right of ways across the south and east sides.
WHEREAS, the above described lands are owned by City Water & Light Plant of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, a consolidated municipal improvement district; and
WHEREAS, the Jonesboro Metropolitan Area Planning Commission has recommended that said lands be rezoned to the I-2 industrial use classification; and
WHEREAS, it appears to the City Council that all applicable laws of the State of Arkansas and of the City of Jonesboro have been complied with in presenting this ordinance to the City Council.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that:
SECTION 1: The Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, codified as Title 14 of the Jonesboro Municipal Code, should be, and it hereby is amended so that the lands hereinabove described are zoned as the I-2 industrial use classification.
SECTION 2: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk is hereby directed to amend the official zoning district boundary map of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, insofar as it relates to the lands described hereinabove so that the z...
