RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING ON THE ABANDONMENT OF AN ALLEY RUNNING NORTH AND SOUTH OF BLOCK 1 OF COLE'S 2ND ADDITION TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO

That the 16th day of August, 1971, is hereby fixed as the date for the hearing upon the petition of J.W. Cowles, N.I. Lyon, Kathleen Stroud Roberts, Burnis Posey, J. William Watson, Estate of Grace Lutterloh, Robert Hudson, Julian James and Verna Tomlinson praying for the abandonment and vacating of the following described alley in the City of Jonesboro, Ark.
An alley running north and south through the middle of Block 1 of Cole's 2nd Addition to the City of Jonesboro, bounded on the east by Lots 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 and on the west by Lots 7, 8, 9, 10, 11 & 12 of said Cole's 2nd Addition, beginning at West Nettleton and running through to Thomas Avenue, platted and filed for record in Deed Record 26, page 402-403 at the office of the County Recorder, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
The City Clerk hereby is directed to give notice of the time and place of a hearing on the said petition by publication once a week for 2 consecutive weeks in a newspaper published in Craighead County and having a general circulation in the City of Jonesboro, Ark. The notice shall state the name of the property owners who signed the petition, the description of the alley to be vacated and shall identify same by the abutting lot and block numbers and the notice shall advise all person that on the 16th day of August, 1971, the Council will hear and determine whether the above described alley shall be vacated.
