A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO ENDORSING AND SUPPORTING THE ROTARY CLUBS "ADOPT HANCOCK COUNTY” PROJECT

WHEREAS, Hancock County in southern Mississippi was one of the hardest hit areas affected by Hurricane Katrina which struck the Gulf Coast and the devastation is vast with an estimate of structures destroyed at approximately 90%; and

 

WHEREAS, due to the magnitude and scope of the hurricane damage the local Rotary Clubs have adopted Hancock County, Mississippi and have teamed with local businesses and residents to provide relief items, 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas to stand in support of this effort by the Rotary Clubs and local volunteers to gather and send relief items to this hard stricken area; and

 

BE IT FURTHER resolved that the City Council for the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas hereby endorses, encourages and supports the local Rotary Clubs efforts and encourages the support of the community in this relief effort as well.
