RESOLUTION TO RECOGNIZE THE JONESBORO BEAUTIFUL PROGRAM AND DESIGNATE THE WEEK OF MARCH 24-MARCH 31, 1990, AS “CLEAN SWEEP WEEK”

WHEREAS, the natural beauty of Jonesboro, Arkansas, lends itself “Welcome” to all citizens and visitors alike; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the community, region, and state, to exhibit the warmth of a clean and inviting city, maintained by an ongoing program of beautification; and
WHEREAS, the citizens of Jonesboro, in order to exhibit their pride in community by participating in programs of enrichment; and
WHEREAS, to recognize these efforts and stimulate continued improvement in the live ability of Jonesboro, and therefore reflect an enhanced quality of life;
IT IS THEREFORE, RESOLVED, that the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas shall recognize the existence of that program to be known as Jonesboro Beautiful, and shall initiate this program by designating the dates of March 24-March 31, 1990, as “Clean Sweep Week”.
PASSED and ADOPTED this 19th day of February, 1990.
