A RESOLUTION TO THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS TO ENTER INTO A PROJECT AGREEMENT WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE NATURAL RESOURCES CONSERVATION SERVICES (NRCS) TO RELIEVE HAZARDS REPRESENTED BY FLOODING IN APRIL/MAY 2011

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has desires to enter into a Project Agreement (attached) with NRCS to alleviate hazards within Craighead County as a result of the April/May 2011 flooding;
WHEREAS, the site covered by the agreement is, designated Site 1, Higginbottom Creek;
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro will contribute 25 percent of the cost of the work (described in the attached agreement) to complete the project. The City's share of the cost shall be provided with a combination of non-cash and cash contributions;
WHEREAS, NRCS requires the cash contribution portion of $99,405.08 upon execution of the agreement;
WHEREAS, the funding for the City's contribution to the project will come from the Capital Improvement budget and compensation shall be paid in accordance with the agreement.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS THAT:
Section 1. That the City of Jonesboro shall enter into a Project Agreement with NRCS to relieve hazards represented by flooding in April/May 2011 at designated Site 1, Higginbottom Creek.
Section 2. The funding for the City's contribution to the project will come from the Capital Improvement budget and compensation shall be paid in accordance with the agreement.
Section 3. The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate this agreement.
