RESOLUTION TO ADOPT THE SELF-EVALUATION PLAN AND TRANSITION PLAN (NOTE: THE PLAN WAS REPLACED BY RES-02:736 ON DECEMBER 16, 2022)

WHEREAS, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is in full effect and covers the City of Jonesboro; and
WHEREAS, the Americans With Disabilities Act (ADA) has established certain steps which must be fully complied with, which include an ADA Self-Evaluation Plan of all City of Jonesboro policies, facilities, programs, and activities and a written ADA Transition Plan; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Jonesboro is committed to complying with the Americans With Disabilities Act and has conducted a Self-Evaluation Plan and written a Transition Plan which outlines all areas which must be corrected to bring the City of Jonesboro into compliance with ADA, and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has placed the Self-Evaluation Plan and Transition Plan in a file in the Department of Human Resources, which is available for the public to view and continue to make comments.
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
JONESBORO:
SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Jonesboro hereby adopts both the Self-Evaluation Plan and the Transition Plan.
SECTION 2: That the City Council of the City of Jonesboro encourages citizens to review these documents and make comments.
SECTION 3: That the City Council authorizes the City Administration to fund the changes identified in the City of Jonesboro's Americans with Disabilities Act Transition Plan.
