MAPC MINUTES
OCTOBER 12, 1978

The Metropolitan Area Planning Commission met Thursday, October 12, 1978 at 7:30 P.M. in the Court Room at City Hall.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman, Ralph Morrison.

Members Present: Morrison, Cooper, Ball, Freeman, Brown and Morse

Members Absent: Smith, Tilton and McDaniel

Others Present: Mike Cameron, Roy Douglas, Brenda Barnes and Curt Hodges.

Minutes for September were read and approved. Items for business were as follows:

Item #1 Larry Boling, Attorney for the property owners of Hunter Addition and Hunter Heights Subdivision, request a zoning classification of Residential One (R-1). Subject zoning request is submitted under the provisions of Ordinance #1473 providing for zoning classification prior to the subject property being annexed to the City. The MAPC is asked to prepare a written statement as to what effect the said Annexation would have on the City accepting such lands. The property is described as follows: Hunter Addition and Hunter Heights Subdivision being a part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter and a part of the Northeast Quarter SE ¼, all being in Section 16, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, Craighead County, Arkansas, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the Northwest Corner of the Northeast Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of the Northeast Quarter, Section 16, T 14 N, R 4 E, thence North 88° 57’ East 670.0 feet; thence south 653.7 feet; thence south 0° 13’ 30” west 660.7 feet; thence south 70° 53’ west 365.9 feet; thence south 1207.2 feet; thence north 88° 54’ west 324.3 feet; thence north 0° 07’ east 1102.0 feet; thence north to the southwest corner SE ¼, SE ¼ NE ¼ of said section 17, T 14 N R 4 E a distance of 209.0 feet; thence north 1311.9 feet to the point of beginning proper containing 30.39 acres, more or less. The general location of this property is south of Meadowlark Acres.
