AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF ARLINGTON COURT FROM MADISON STREET WEST, AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: From and after passage and adoption of this Ordinance, there shall be no parking on the South side of Arlington Court from Madison Street West.

 

Section 2: The Chief of Police or some person designated by him is hereby directed to place “NO PARKING” signs at appropriate places on the above named portion of Arlington Court and it shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to remove, mutilate or tear down such signs.

 

Section 3: All Ordinances and laws or parts of ordinances and laws in conflict herewith are hereby repealed.

 

Section 4: Any person, firm or corporation violating the provisions of this Ordinance shall be fined in a sum not to exceed $15.00 for each offense.

 

Section 5: It is found and declared by the City Council that due to congestion in this area this Ordinance is necessary for the congestion in this area this Ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.

 

PASSED and ADOPTED this 2nd day of November, 1970.
