AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CHAPTER 14 OF THE CODE OF ORDINANCES KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGE IN ZONING BOUNDARIES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
SECTION 1: That Chapter 14 of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Jonesboro, known as the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the change in zoning district boundaries as follows:
From Agricultural AG-1 to Industrial I-2 of property described as follows: Industrial Park
The West Half of the Northwest Quarter of Section 28, containing 80 acres; the West Half of Section 28. Containing 320 acres; the Northwest Quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 28, containing 40 acres; and the East Half of Section 29, containing 320 acres, all in Township 14 North, Range 5 East, and containing in the aggregate 760 acres.
SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that negotiations are currently under way with industry prospects which may have an immediate need for acquisition of a portion of the industrial park being rezoned hereby and, unless rezoning is immediately accomplished, delays may be experienced in assisting the location of these new industries and, therefore, this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, an emergence is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
