ORDINANCE ADOPTING BY REFERENCE A CERTAIN TECHNICAL CODE ENTITLED, “CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS ZONING ORDINANCE” TO REPLACE EXISTING TITLE 14 (ZONING) OF THE JONESBORO MUNICIPAL CODE

WHEREAS, the Land Use Codes Committee, a special committee appointed to review and make recommendations regarding the proposed “Land Development Code,” has completed its charge regarding new zoning regulations for the City of Jonesboro; and

 

WHEREAS, after due notice, the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission (MAPC) has heard all persons desiring to be heard regarding a certain new proposed technical code entitled “City of Jonesboro, Arkansas Zoning Ordinance,” to replace existing Title 14 of the Jonesboro Municipal Code, and

 

WHEREAS, pursuant to ACA 14-55-207, public notice was given of the City’s intent to adopt said technical code by reference, and advised that three (3) copies of the document were on file and available for public review and examination in the Office of the City Clerk; and

 

WHEREAS, all comments, views, suggestions and recommendations have been considered and addressed, and minor changes made as deemed appropriate.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:     

 

SECTION 1: That Title 14 of the Jonesboro Municipal Code is hereby repealed.

 

SECTION 2: That the document entitled, “City of Jonesboro, Arkansas Zoning Ordinance” be, and is hereby adopted by reference, and shall become Title 14 of the Jonesboro Municipal Code.

 

SECTION 3: That all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, to the extent such conflict, are hereby repealed.
