RESOLUTION TO PROCEED WITH CONDEMNATION ACTION ON PROPERTY LOCATED ON THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF CRAIGHEAD ROAD AND WOOD STREET

WHEREAS, the City Inspector and Fire Chief of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas have made a full inspection of property located in the Northeast Corner of the intersection of Craighead Road and Wood Street, and
WHEREAS, said officials find and report that the main structure located thereon and adjacent outbuildings are dilapidated and unfit for human habitation constituting a safety and fire hazard and have recommended that such structure be either repaired or condemned and removed;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, that the structure located on the property described above be, and it is hereby, found and determined to be dilapidated, unsafe, unsightly and a hazard to the public safety and welfare; and that pursuant to City Ordinances and State Law, the owner or owners of said property be given by the City Attorney sixty (60) days notice to remove or tear down such buildings or repair same, and upon the owners failure to do so that the said inspector and other persons designated by the City enter upon said property and premises and remove or tear down said buildings and fill in the cistern therein located so that the same is not dilapidated, unsightly, unsafe and hazardous.
