RESOLUTION TO ALLOW THE CRAIGHEAD COUNTY SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL AUTHORITY TO APPLY FOR A PERMIT MODIFICATION TO CONTINUE OPERATION OF A CLASS I LANDIFLL

WHEREAS, the Craighead County Solid Waste Disposal Authority (CCSWDA) is applying for a permit modification for its Class I landfill located south of Jonesboro, Arkansas to continue disposal of municipal wastes; and
WHEREAS, no threat of pollution to the City of Jonesboro exists because of the disposal of Class I materials by the method requested in the permit modification application; and
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro has accepted the siting of the landfill and has not objection to the granting of a permit modification for Class I waste disposal by the CCSWDA.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas adopt this resolution allowing the CCSWDA to apply for a permit modification to continue operation of a Class 1 landfill.
