RESOLUTION TO SET A PUBLIC HEARING TO VACATE AND ABANDON AN UNIMPROVED PORTION OF A STREET, EASEMENT, ALLEY

WHEREAS, the property owners have filed a Petition with the City Clerk of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas requesting that
LEGAL DESCRIPTION:
Begin at the northeast corner of Lot 3 Block A Stallings 5th Addition; thence N 00°00'30" W- 175.05' to a point on a curve to the left; thence Northwesterly along said curve to the Left (R=25.00') - 39.53' to the south right of way line of E. Matthews Avenue; thence S. 89°38'36" E. along said Right of Way line - 110.04' to a Point on a curve; Thence Southeasterly along said curve (R=25.00') - 39.32'; Thence S00°00'24"E - 175.13'; Thence N89°28'55"W - 60.00' to the Point of Beginning containing 0.28 acres more or less, subject to all rights of way and easements or record.
Be vacated and abandoned; and
WHEREAS, the Petition has been presented to the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas; AND
WHEREAS, Arkansas Code Annotated 14-301-110 requires two weeks public notice before the above (street, easement, alley) can be vacated and abandoned;
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that the City Clerk is directed to publish a notice advising the public of the request by the property owners to vacate and abandon the unimproved portion of said (street, easement, alley) mentioned above and this matter will be heard before the City Council on February 3, 2003 at 6:15 p.m. o'clock, at the Huntington Center, located at 900 W. Monroe, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
