AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES.

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: That Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:
From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property: (Bill & Jerry Rupard’s alley)
Part of the NE 1/4 of the NW 1/4 of Section 31, Township 14 North, Range 4 East, being more particularly described as follows: Begin at the North Quarter Corner of said Section 31: thence South 89°25' West on the Section line 668.5 feet to the point of beginning proper; thence continue on the Section line South 89°25' West 133.5 feet; thence South 01°00' East 280 feet; thence North 89°25' East 133.5 feet thence North 01°00' West 280 feet to the point of beginning proper, subject to road right-of-way on all or part of the north 30 feet as shown in survey prepared by Haywood, Kenward & Associated, Inc. dated February 1, 1973 and revised on September 10, 1976.
SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract(s) of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
