AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 05-2007 FOR THE PURPOSE OF DELETING THREE POLICE OFFICER POSITIONS AND ADDING THREE POLICE SERGEANT POSITIONS IN THE 2007 BUDGET

Body

WHEREAS, The addition of three additional Police Sergeants to facilitate adequate supervision in the Police Department has been recommended by the Public Safety Committee and the Finance Committee;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, FOR THE CITY OF JONESBORO, ARKANSAS, THAT

SECTION ONE: The 2007 annual budget for the City of Jonesboro is amended by the addition of three Police Sergeant positions (Grade 18 Step 1 in the City of Jonesboro Pay Plan) to facilitate adequate supervision in the Police Department and the deletion of three police officer positions (Grade 12 Step 1 in the City of Jonesboro Pay Plan).

SECTION TWO: There are sufficient funds in the budget and no additional money will need to be appropriated.

SECTION THREE: Due to the immediate need to facilitate efficient operations of the Jonesboro Police Department there is hereby declared to be an emergency and this ordinance shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
