AN ORDINANCE TO WAIVE COMPETITIVE BIDDING AND AUTHORIZE PURCHASE OF REPAIRS ON A 3208 CAT ENGINE

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas that:
SECTION 1: That the Street Department of the City of Jonesboro needs to purchase repair parts for the rebuilding of an engine in Dump Truck # 5206.
SECTION 2: That said parts and labor can be obtained from J & O Diesel of Jonesboro, AR for the sum of $5,120.00.
SECTION 3: That the City Council in accord with the terms of A.C.A. 14-58-302 hereby waives the requirement of competitive bidding and directs the Purchasing Agent to purchase the above described for the price set forth in Section 2 above.
SECTION 4: It is further found that due to the immediate need to acquire the this equipment an emergency is declared to exist and this ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect from and after its passage and approval.
