AN ORDINANCE TO MAKE IMPROVEMENTS TO CRAIGHEAD FOREST PARK LAKE

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro Parks and Recreation Department has solicited bids to construct a well at Craighead Forest Park Lake
WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro currently owns and maintains Craighead Forest Park and Craighead Forest Park Lake
WHEREAS, the low bidder for the well was Gibson Irrigation with a bid of $24,383 and a three year warranty.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED, by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:
SECTION 1: There is hereby appropriated the sum of $24,383 from the unappropriated balance of the capital improvement fund for the construction of a well at Craighead Forest Park by Gibson Irrigation.
SECTION 2: The Mayor, Hubert Brodell and City Clerk Donna Jackson are hereby authorized by the City Council for the City of Jonesboro to execute all documents necessary to effectuate the improvements to Craighead Forest Park.
SECTION 3: There is hereby found and declared to be an immediate need for the passage and adoption of this ordinance based on the need to contract with the low bidder and not rebid the project. It is, therefore, declared that an emergency exists and this Ordinance being necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, health and safety shall be in force and effect immediately upon and after its passage.
