BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

SECTION 1: Ordinance No. 954 known as the zoning ordinance of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows:

 

From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described property:

 

LEGAL DESCRIPTION:

 

Part of the Northwest 3 of Section 9, Township 13 North, Range 4 East, and being more particularly described as follows:  Commence at the Northwest corner of said Section 9, thence South 1051.5 feet; thence North 89º28'East 1270.0  feet to the point of beginning; thence 51º59'28" W. 11.0 feet; Thence S. 63º14' E. 24.0 feet; Thence 51º59'28" W. 59.0 feet; Thence 51º59.0 feet; Thence 51º7'8" W. 27.22 feet; Thence S. 78º24' E. 93.17 feet to the West Right of Way to State Highway No. 1; Thence N. 34º49'46" E. along said Right of Way 169.59 feet; Thence N. 16º5' E. along right of way 46.6 feet to the South Right of Way to Highway 1B also known as old Harrisburg Road; Thence North 49º52'49" W. along Right of Way 147.5 feet; Thence S 17º8' W. 192.35 feet; Thence N. 60º27' W.115.0 feet to the Point of Beginning, containing 0.78 acres more or less.

 

SECTION 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tract of land described above in this ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that, therefore, an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance, being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
