A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE WILLINGNESS OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO TO UTILIZE FEDERAL-AID RECREATIONAL TRAILS PROGRAM FUNDS FOR THE TURTLE CREEK GREENWAY LIGHTING AND SIGNAGE PROJECT

Body

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro understands Federal-aid Recreational Trail Program Funds are at 80% federal participation and 20% local match to improve the Turtle Creek Greenway Lighting and Signage, and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Jonesboro understands that Federal-aid Funds are available for this project on a reimbursable basis, requiring work to be accomplished and proof of payment prior to actual monetary reimbursement, and

 

WHEREAS, the Turtle Creek Greenway Lighting and Signage Project, using federal funding, will be open and available for use by the general public and maintained by the applicant for the life of the project.

 

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF JONESBORO THAT:

 

SECTION I: The City of Jonesboro will participate in accordance with its designated responsibility, including maintenance of the project.

 

SECTION II: The Mayor and the City Clerk are hereby authorized to execute all appropriate agreements and contracts necessary to expedite the construction of the above stated project.

 

SECTION III: The City Council pledges its full support and hereby authorized the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department to initiate action to implement the project.
