AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO.954, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR CHANGES IN ZONING BOUNDARIES AND FOR OTHER PURPOSES

BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas:

 

Section 1: That Ordinance No.954 known as the Zoning Ordinance to the City of Jonesboro, Arkansas, be amended as recommended by the Metropolitan Area Planning Commission by the changes in zoning classifications as follows: From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-4) the following described property:

 

The East one-half of Lots 11 and 12, and the West 7.5 feet of an abandoned alley adjacent to the East side of Lots 11 and 12, all in Block 1 of Cole’s Second Addition to Jonesboro, Arkansas.

 

This property is being rezoned subject to the stipulation that a site development plan be presented to the Planning Commission before any construction commences on said site: From Residential (R-1) to Commercial (C-3) the following described real property:

 

Beginning at the East Quarter corner of said Section 25; thence South 88° 31’ West on the quarter section line 30’; thence South 37.8 feet to State Highway No.49 right-of-way; thence South 44° 10’ West on said right-of-way line 200 feet; thence North 00° 07’ West 177.4 feet to the quarter section line; thence North 88° 31’ East on the quarter section line 140 feet to the point of beginning; being further described as : Lot 1 of the Melton Manor Addition, as shown as recorded plant in Deed Record Book 158, page 5, Jonesboro, Arkansas.

 

Section 2: It is found and declared by the City Council that the proper use of the tracts of land described in this Ordinance is being delayed because of improper zoning, and that therefore an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this Ordinance being necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and safety, it shall take effect and be in full force from and after its passage and approval.
